We are a research institute affiliated with CONICET and the National University of Rosario.
Our goal is to generate, disseminate, and apply scientific knowledge in the field of biological sciences through outstanding research, teaching and knowledge transfer to the productive and healthcare sectors as well as the community.
Our mission is the pursuit of knowledge driven by excellence, with a focus on the needs of society. In this paradigm, the knowledge generated at IBR has led to the creation of companies, patents and products in the biotechnology and healthcare market.

In 3600 m2, the CCT headquarters houses two general-purpose laboratories, two microscopy rooms, three cell culture rooms, a radioisotope room, a pisciculture room, a crystallography room, an instrument room, four cold rooms, and two temperature-controlled rooms at 30 and 37 degrees Celsius, darkrooms, a drugstore, an electronics workshop, and equipment maintenance area, six plant culture chambers, and a nuclear magnetic resonance annex.
Additionally, it features 36 offices for researchers, 12 cubicles for research fellows and technical staff, three seminar rooms, and a meeting room, a dining hall, a material washing and sterilization room, computer rooms, administrative offices, and storage rooms, among other facilities.
The work at this location is intertwined with the activities of the groups located at the Faculty of Biochemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences headquarters. The space spans a total of 500 m2 and accommodates 7 general-purpose laboratories, a washing and sterilization room, a cell culture room, offices, a meeting room, among other facilities.
Where we are
We have two locations: one headquarter situated within the premises of the Scientific and Technological Center (CCT-Rosario), and the other at the Faculty of Biochemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the National University of Rosario (UNR). The CCT-Rosario campus hosts several research institutes, contiguous to the University City, serving as a key hub in the significant scientific and technological network of the litoral region of the country.
